Luxman cl34 duo-beta tube preamplifier

Quale preamplificatore abbinare a un Marantz 8b in mancanza del model 7c?
Non sempre si ha la fortuna di poterli acquistare insieme, come è capitato a me.
Il mercato offre tanta scelta,anche rimanedo nel vintage. Bisogna tener presente che il finale  non ha l'interruttore di accensione, quindi l'ideale è un preamplificatore che offre la possibilità di alimentarlo tramite una presa di servizio.
Prodotti di una certa epoca come McIntosh c22,c11 oppure Audio Researc sp6,sp8,tanto per citarne alcuni, ma la scelta è ampia.
Così vagliando diversi preamplificatori, ma principalmente sotto consiglio di chi mi ha venduto l'8b,mi metto alla ricerca di un Luxman cl32 o meglio ancora cl34 con circuitazione duobeta.
Lo trovo, dico fortunatamente, perchè è rarissimo e lo acquisto per corrispondenza.
Il Luxman cl34, è un ottimo preamplificatore a valvole, dell'epoca d'oro della casa nipponica, molto versatile,dispone come prima accennavo, di due prese di servizio per alimentare il finale.Non è nient'altro che l'evoluzione del cl32,modificato in qualche parametro, munito dei controlli di tono, che sostituiscono il linear equalizer del cl32.
Monta 4 valvole 12ax7 e 4 12au7, di cui 3 12ax7 per lo stadio phono, questo con un ottima curva di equalizzazione riaa (Recording Industry Association of America), e le altre per lo stadio linea.
Frutto della matita di Tim de Parravicini, che in quel periodo progettava per la Luxman.
Dall'ascolto colpisce la scena e l'ottimo corpo strumentale, dettagliato pur rimanendo di impostazione calda, anche se a giocare un ruolo importante sono il tipo di valvole utilizzate.
Comoda la sezione phono con due ingressi, ma solo per testine mm.

Mi piacerebbe trovare il case in legno, ma credo che sia quasi impossibile, così mi accontento pensando che questo accessorio pur abbellendo l'oggetto, non ne faciliterebbe la dissipazione di queste 8valvole, che non appena entrano a regime, rendono il coperchio  rovente sufficientemente per poterci friggere un uovo..

Ho avuto la fortuna di trovare di trovare questi piccoli e splendidi diffusori, ormai sempre più difficili da reperire, in buone condizioni estetiche e di funzionamento, e per lo più originali in ogni parte.

I trasduttori in alnico di questi vecchi HDP hanno un'ottima capacità di reagire ai minimi segnali elettrici, una migliore risoluzione, traducendo in suono ogni bit o ogni solco di vinile,bastano frazioni di watt per sentire ogni nuances che proviene dal supporto.

Oggi si è abbandonato l'utilizzo dell'alnico per far posto ai magneti in ferrite quest'ultimi meno performanti, vi spiego il perchè.
Temperatura di curie, è un fenomeno fisico che comporta un problema in qualsiasi elemento magnetico.
Ogni materiale dotato di magnetizzazione, ha una temperatura oltre la quale comincia a perdere forza magnetica.
La trasformazione della corrente modulata dai finali di potenza.si trasferisce in pressione sonora, tutto il resto è trasformato in calore (legge di Joule).Quindi in un uso ad alto volume è assai facile misurare temperature dell'ordine di 200°c in prossimità delle voice coil,questo porta pericolosamente alla soglia della smagnetizzazione.
Questi problemi non si hanno con i magneti in ferrite, che hanno una temperatura di curie superiore di almeno un centinaio di gradi.
La ferrite è una sorta di impasto ottenuto amalgamando in una resina dell'ossido ferrico meno sinterizzato.
L'alnico invece è una lega metallica ottenuta da elementi costosi,(alluminio-nichel-cobalto) e per di più ricavato in fusione.
Alnico III-alnico V, alcomax ecc...Indicano le variazioni di composizione dei rispettivi elementi, e quindi di forza magnetica, (nell'alnico V la percentuale di cobalto è del 26%,nell'alcomax è del 12%).
L'alnico ha una struttura molecolare di un metallo,un reticolo cristallino decisamente ordinato e con gli angoli reciproci perfettamente allineati.

Quì nasce la differenza tra suono dell'alnico e suono della ferrite, ovvero la capacità di tirare fuori le microvariazioni di segnale, le armoniche nascoste.
Ho potuto provare quanto detto, collegando questi diffusori,e posso dire che ogni ascolto è sempre un'esperienza che regala sensazioni uniche.

Acquistato in ottobre questo splendido lp per aggiungerlo alla mia collezione di dischi,e poi proprio perchè non può mancare a chi possiede i Marantz dell'epoca,ossia dagli anni '50 agli anni'60.
Lo consiglio comunque a tutti,è stato fatto un grande lavoro nella masterizzazione,tenuto conto che sono tutte vecchie registrazioni.
Ascoltato con : sorgente analogica EMT930st con stadio phono EMT 155st,fonorilevatore EMT tsd15 sfl,piatto in vetro e base antisismica dush,preamplificatore a valvole Luxman CL 34,con circuitazione Duobeta,finale di potenza stereo a valvole Marantz 8b
diffusori acustici Tannoy Eaton HDP 10'',con magneti in alnico.

Purchased in October this wonderful lp to add to my collection of records, and then just because it can not be missed by those with the Marantz own age, that is from the 50s to the 60s.
I would still recommend it to all, has been done a great job in the burning, given that they are all old recordings.

Sound Fidelity say: “Both this LP and the CD version take you back to the era of 'direct' recording. OK, as Fritz the engineer says in the sleeve notes, there's up to 3% distortion on the original tapes due to the valve recording equipment, but this does not take away from the lovely full sound production, as its mostly even harmonics from the tubes (valves) that may soften the edges a tad, but brings no nasties when you listen. Fritz's re-engineering has produced a wonderful, immediate and full sound that captures the studio sessions beautifully and does justice to both musicians and engineers involved in these recordings. Highly recommended.”

Marantz model 8b.Se avessi previsto di riuscire ad accaparrarmi questo magnifico finale,non  mi sarei liberato del 10b,adesso mi sarebbe mancato solo il preamplificatore model 7c ed ero a posto.
Tornato dalle vacanze estive, trovo un inserzione di vendita del Marantz 8b,decido così di acquistarlo,ad un giusto prezzo, anche se attribuire un valore a questi oggetti non è sempre una regola.
Mi reco a Torino dal venditore per un prova d'ascolto,il finale era collegato a un pre McIntosh c28 a stato solido,la sorgente digitale sempre Mc,e i diffusori b&w.Il tutto suonava abbastanza bene,ma non come da mie aspettative,un po' freddino e analitico,niente di preoccupante,sicuramente dovuto al preamplificatore,essendo a stato solido.
Non ho avuto comunque alcuna perplessità,la settimana seguente l'avrei acquistato.

Il Marantz 8b è difficile reperibilità nel mercato,di importante valore collezionistico,poi l'esemplare in oggetto oltre che a presentarsi in eccellenti condizioni estetiche,la componentistica anch'essa impeccabile,senza alcuna modifica apportata nel tempo.L'aplificatore apparteneva a un ex dirigente Fiat,che lo acquistò negli anni '60 in America,conservò addirittura il certificato di garanzia con schema elettrico e busta originale riportante il numero seriale di produzione..La morsettiera in bachelite con le viti per il serraggio dei cavi di potenza senza alcuna scalfitura,spiega l'accurato utilizzo dell'amplificatore nel tempo.

Marantz model 10b

Marantz.Il mio approccio a questo marchio iniziò nel 2010 quando navigando in internet rimasi folgorato dalla estrema bellezza del tuner model 10b,lessi l'interessante storia di questo sintonizzatore,ritenuto ancor oggi forse il migliore mai costruito.Saul Marantz investì molto su questo progetto,portandolo poi al tracollo finanziario.Si trattava di un apparecchio molto costoso,700 dollari il suo prezzo nel lontano 1964.
Un mio caro amico mi raccontò che ne una gran parte della produzione fù ritirata dal mercato inquanto tutti starati,un rompicapo anche per i progettisti,finchè non si scopri che il problema era dovuto a una saldatura..
Ebbi la fortuna di acquistarlo a Milano da un vecchio radioriparatore,era ancora impolverato,sicuramente recuperato da una cantina,con deenfasi europea,unico proprietario,sul trasformatore era ancora applicato il bollino dell'importatore lombardo.
Oscilloscopio e valvole tutti originali e neanche un filo di ruggine.Portato a casa una spolveratina,e subito dopo collegato,ed è magia..Radio Rai 3 ore 2,00 venivano trasmessi i 3notturni per pianoforte di Chopin opera #9,che sensazioni....

EMT950/948/938 vs EMT927/930

Il 948 meglio del 938,due ottimi giradischi,il 948 è il fratello più piccolo del 950,il suono è più analitico e freddo allo stesso tempo molto dinamico,il 930 è piu caldo,morbido con una buona presenza dei bassi,molta coppia,è autorevole.
Un buon 948/938/950 se in ordime può durare per anni senza problemi,la manutenzione però è parecchio più complessa dei trazione a puleggia quali il 930 e il 927.Io preferisco il 930 e un giorno magari il 927..i 930stanno man mano sparendo,ne produssero 2500 esemplari e ne sono rimasti circa 1000! Se pensi al thorens td124 che ne hanno prodotto 120000 sono davvero pochi! del 927 ne hanno prodotti 500 esemplari e il suo prototipo EMTr80 50 esemplari!! venduto su ebay qualche mese fà a 46000 euro.
Quindi detto questo e visto questi numeri si può deddure il valore collezionistico dell'EMT930 e che potrà avere in futuro

Ho da poco acquistato uno dei primi lettori cd,prodotto imminentemente dopo l'invenzione del cd.
Ha la plastica che protegge i tasti dei comandi secca e man mano si stanno staccando tutti i frammenti,
ovviamente i quasi trent'anni gli sono pesati,quindi sono  alla ricerca di un ricambio anche se sono sicuro che non si possa trovare anzi forse non esiste,quindi sarà forse più facile trovare un produttore di
fogli di plastica con stampe,credo che esistano...Se qualcuno ha da suggerirmi qualcosa lo ringrazio anticipatemente.
Il lettore sembra funzionare bene ,anche se ieri sera ai primi ascolti ho creduto fosse difettoso in quanto prima di iniziare a leggere i cd passavano parecchi secondi,ma informandomi ho scoperto che questi primi lettori funzionavano in questo modo.
Il primo lettore cd fù presentato nell'agosto del 1982 e commercializzato a settembre dello stesso anno.
Il mio risale ai primi mesi del 1983! Quindi una tecnologia primordiale per questo tipo di apparecchi.
Ha un bel suono caldo ,ben lontano dalla freddezza che contraddistingue gli apparecchi dei nostri giorni,quindi pago l'attesa che prima menzionavo,e l'estetica rovinata in cambio di un ascolto coinvolgente e appagante...
